Frequently Asked Questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?▾
No. EXIF reading happens entirely in your browser using exifr.js. Your photo never leaves your device.
What metadata can I see?▾
Camera make/model, lens, exposure settings (ISO, aperture, shutter speed), GPS coordinates, date taken, image dimensions, and more.
Why is my photo's GPS location missing?▾
GPS data is stripped when photos are shared via WhatsApp, Instagram, or email for privacy. Only photos shared directly (AirDrop, USB transfer) retain location data.
Which formats are supported?▾
JPEG (most common), TIFF, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone), many RAW formats (CR2, NEF, ARW), and WebP.
