Two Ways to Convert PDF to Word
The right approach depends on whether your PDF contains machine-readable text or is a scanned image:

How to Tell Which Type You Have
Open the PDF and try to select and copy some text. If you can select individual words, it's a text-based PDF — use the direct converter. If you can only select the whole page as an image block, it's a scanned PDF — use OCR.
What to Expect From the Conversion
- Text content is preserved with reasonable accuracy
- Complex layouts with columns, tables, and images may not convert perfectly
- Font styling (bold, italic) is partially preserved
- For simple contracts, reports, and letters: excellent results
- For design-heavy documents with complex formatting: expect to clean up in Word
After Conversion: Editing in Word
Once you have the DOCX, open it in Microsoft Word, LibreOffice Writer, or Google Docs. All three can open DOCX files. Review the content, correct any OCR errors, and reformat as needed before saving your final document.
